Happy February color lovers – are you currently inundated with red and pink for Valentine’s Day? Well, this month, I’m shaking up tradition. I’m moving away from blind acquisition to thoughtful curation, and reaching out to the makers who resell, upcycle, repurpose, personalize, and customize. Seeking out handmade goods from interesting companies with tales to tell. I’m looking for unique finds with backstory. Think of it as switching “me” to “re” – rewear, repurpose, reconsider.
Last month, I worked on a project with @fed_upcycle, a Bristol based designer who is the definition of thoughtful striking curation. We discussed a palette, and landed on this for inspiration!
The finished piece is already posted on @fed_upcycle, and here’s a sneak peak!
I launched DomaChroma Magazine with my own strong eye for color, like a kid with cash in a candy store. As I’ve learned more about the process of creation directly from the artists, designers, and makers that I’ve interviewed, the decisions that creators make have become extremely appealing to me.
How should I create the most colorful life for myself? Through careful deliberation of choices. People always talk about enjoying the journey, right? Our choices ARE the journey. Life is a Choose Your Own Adventure Book. And the more collaborations we create with one another, the more we enhance our style, character, and voice. Stay colorful, my friends.
¡Viva La Revolución Del Color!
