Hello! I’m Pamela, creator of DomaChroma, and I am a human confetti cannon. My mission, which I choose to accept, is to spread the joy of color maximalism. DomaChroma is our collective house of color. Together we will celebrate all of the makers, creators, educators, designers, artists, scientists, and experiences that celebrate all the colors, all the time.

What is color maximalism? It’s way too much color. It’s so much color that you can’t help but smile. With teeth. And gasp. I love color so much that I drive a hot pink car, wear rainbow hair, and my favorite color is ALL OF THEM. But not just color. Neon fluorescent candy glitter jewelled kaleidoscope cotton candy explosions of color.

This is my story. While decorating my first house years ago, I purchased my first Benjamin Moore paint chip fan deck. Flipping through, I knew immediately. Something rose in my belly. I had a visceral reaction. The brightest, most saturated colors touched my soul. Fascinated by the reaction from friends and family who viewed my paint chips, I saw shock, disbelief, and disdain.

A color addict was born.

Language, emotion, identity – color is everything. It’s an antidote to apathy. A reminder that we are capable of wonder and awe. To live with a constant awareness of color is to engage with the world, to move through space and time with a higher sensitivity to beauty, meaning, and memory. While we overdose on information, color provides an analog form of focus. When prescribed, it is the finest anti-depressant.

Your color prescription is ready. Do you want to pick it up or have it delivered?
