April is literally popping and blooming! And so is DomaChroma Magazine. There’s been a change in my work – I’m spending more time working on collaborative relationships with colorful creators.
You’ll recognize this shift immediately in this month’s interviews. Nadiia of Bijou Jewelry works in a bold and bright beaded palette that highlights her skill and materials. The color hits first, before anything else. Her style is bold and immediately recognizable.
Fleurre of Fed-Upcycle approaches from a different angle. Reworked materials, rebuilt pieces, and a strong color push. Nothing tentative about her talent. Wait until you see the blazer dress of my dreams – absolutely insanely good, and one of a kind.
Kaylie Caswell of House of Caswell brings that same clarity into her fashion line launch. Her work demonstrates incredible quality and design – a mark of true art, signed and numbered. Color is just one bright element of her vision and skill.
Of course, my mind is also on The Devil Wears Prada 2. The cerulean speech gets quoted all the time. The speech’s harsh point? What we think of as personal taste is often shaped by others long before we make our choices.
But the state of color is shifting away from this. Interesting people are choosing to bypass that process, and are working directly with creators to collect meaningful, personally evocative pieces that are one of a kind. Consumers are setting the tone instead of following it. I’m here for this 1000%! That’s what this issue of DomaChroma reflects.
So, this isn’t a cerulean decision made for us. It’s bright bold color used as a language that describes who we are, and what we want to convey to the world. Your choices are powerful. And so is color.
Color is Power!
